Why We’re Introducing a Fee for In-Person Estimates
At Dyson Contracting, we’ve always been proud to offer honest, high-quality work and exceptional service across Muskoka—whether we’re transforming bathrooms, tackling full kitchen renovations, or freshening up your cottage.
We know that accurate project estimates are essential for setting expectations and delivering results. Over the years, we’ve done hundreds of in-person estimates at no charge, investing our time and expertise into helping clients plan their dream spaces. But as the volume of requests increases—and with rising costs of fuel, insurance, labour, and materials—it’s become clear that we need to make a change to ensure we can continue delivering the high standard of service we’re known for.
Starting August 15, 2025, in-person estimates that require a site visit will be subject to a fee:
$100 + HST for properties within Huntsville town limits
$250 + HST for properties outside of Huntsville
This fee applies to site-based estimates such as bathroom remodels, kitchen renovations, custom built-ins, and other work requiring on-site evaluation and applied at our discretion.
We believe this is a fair and necessary step that reflects the time, travel, and expertise involved in preparing accurate estimate packages for complex projects. It also helps us prioritize serious inquiries and allocate time more efficiently, so we can better serve all of our clients.
If you proceed with the project, the estimate fee will be applied as a deposit toward your final invoice—so in essence, it’s an investment toward your renovation.
We’ll continue to offer free ballpark estimates by phone or email for smaller jobs or those that don’t require a site visit.
