Dyson Contracting is now a North Bay company. We work in North Bay and everything within about thirty minutes of it, including Callander, Corbeil, Astorville, Powassan, and around Lake Nosbonsing.

What We Do Here

What we offer has not changed. Kitchens and bathrooms are what we love to do. Tile, flooring, painting, trim and carpentry, and interior finishing that turns a room you tolerate into one you enjoy spending time in.

Some jobs take an afternoon and others are a multi-week rebuild - I'm glad to take on jobs both big and small. Helping clients achieve their goals matters more to me than the scope of work.

If you're thinking about a new kitchen, ask about our preferred cabinets which have solid wood boxes, a wide range of door styles and colours, soft-close hinges and slides, available from five Canadian manufacturers: Canada Kitchens, Urban Effects, Cabinetsmith, Deslaurier, and Laurysen. Countertop selections to match any style available from Caesarstone, Silestone, Cambria, and Dekton.

We also do commercial work. Offices, clinics, retail, and professional practices. If you run a small business and need to renovate, all at once or in stages, we're here to help. A lot of this area's housing was post-war construction. Good bones, closed-off kitchens, original bathrooms, and layouts built for how people lived in 1962. Modernizing these spaces for today's lifestyle is what we enjoy best.

That radius is deliberate. Staying tight keeps me on site more and in the truck less, which is better for your schedule and better for your bill.

South River, Sturgeon Falls, and Redbridge are past where I can run a long build properly, because on a multi-week job that drive happens every single day. If you're out that way and it's something smaller, please ask anyway.

Here for the Long Haul

I didn't come here for a busy season. North Bay is home now, and I'm growing this business for the next decade rather than the next quarter. That means I'm happy to work with your schedule.

If you have multiple projects you're thinking about, we can create a prioritized multi-year plan if necessary. If something can wait, I'll tell you it can wait. The renovations that turn out well are almost always the ones where nobody felt rushed into them.

It also means I'm still around afterward. A house is never really finished, and the contractor who knows what's behind your walls is worth more on the third project than the first. I keep a record of the paint colours, the tile, the trim profiles, and the hardware I used, so the work still matches years later.

Repeat clients are the best part of this job, and I always hope to be the contractor you call back.

What Has Not Changed

$2,000,000 in liability insurance and WSIB coverage, with proof before we start. Written estimates that itemize project scope. Written Change Orders if the scope changes, so nothing lands on your invoice that you did not agree to first. Work sites left clean and safe at the end of every day.

You deal with me directly, from the first estimate through to the final walkthrough.

We also work through the winter. Almost everything we do happens indoors, so the cold does not slow a kitchen or a bathroom down. Booking this fall puts you on the schedule ahead of the spring rush.

Is Dyson Contracting still working in Huntsville or Muskoka?

No. Dyson Contracting relocated to North Bay, Ontario in 2026 and no longer takes renovation work in the Muskoka region. If a directory or review site still lists us in Huntsville, please let us know.

Is there a showroom in North Bay?

Dyson Contracting is a service-area business with no storefront or showroom. We come to you for the estimate and the work happens at your property. We will meet you at a supplier showroom when it helps with picking materials.

Do you charge for an estimate?

Most estimates are free. A fee applies for kitchen design layouts, large projects that need fully costed numbers, and properties outside our service area.
