Tile/Flooring

Flooring Tile

Durable, beautiful tile flooring for every room in your home. From kitchens and bathrooms to entryways and living areas.

All Tile Services

Tile flooring is the most durable surface you can put in a home. It handles water, heavy foot traffic, pet claws, and dropped pots without showing wear. It does not scratch like hardwood, warp like laminate, or stain like carpet. With proper installation, tile flooring lasts the lifetime of the home.

We install porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, and wood-look plank tile across Huntsville, Bracebridge, and the Muskoka region. Whether you are tiling a kitchen, an entryway, or an entire main floor, we handle the subfloor prep, layout, and installation so every tile sits flat and stays put.

Flooring Tile Types

Porcelain Floor Tile

Porcelain Floor Tile

The most durable option for high-traffic areas. Near-zero water absorption, scratch resistant, and available in large format, plank, and traditional layouts. Ideal for kitchens, entryways, and bathrooms.

Ceramic Floor Tile

Ceramic Floor Tile

A cost-effective choice for lower-traffic areas and heated floors. Lighter than porcelain, easier to cut, and available in a wide range of colours and patterns.

Natural Stone

Natural Stone

Slate, marble, travertine, and limestone bring natural character to any room. Each tile is unique. Requires sealing for moisture protection but delivers a look that porcelain cannot replicate.

Wood-Look Tile

Wood-Look Tile

Porcelain planks that mimic hardwood without the vulnerability to water, scratching, or temperature changes. Perfect for open-concept kitchens and bathrooms where real wood would not survive.

Why Tile Over Other Flooring

Hardwood looks beautiful but it scratches, dents, and warps when exposed to moisture. Laminate is affordable but cannot handle water and delaminates over time. Vinyl is waterproof but softens with heat and cannot match the feel of real tile or stone underfoot.

Porcelain and ceramic tile give you the durability of stone with the design flexibility of modern manufacturing. Large-format tiles create a seamless, open look with fewer grout lines. Wood-look porcelain planks give you the warmth of hardwood in rooms where real wood would not survive.

Tile also pairs perfectly with radiant heated floors. Porcelain and stone conduct heat efficiently and retain warmth between cycles, making tile flooring comfortable even in a Muskoka winter. We install electric radiant mats beneath the tile, often over a decoupling membrane like Prova Flex-Tile that distributes heat evenly and protects the tile bond.

Subfloor Prep & Installation

The most common reason tile cracks or pops loose is a poorly prepared subfloor. Before a single tile goes down, we ensure the substrate is flat, clean, and structurally sound. On wood-framed floors, we install cement backer board or use a self-levelling compound to eliminate dips and ridges.

Decoupling membranes are used on floors prone to movement. We work with both Prova Flex-Tile and Schluter DITRA depending on the project. These membranes sit between the subfloor and the tile, absorbing lateral stress so cracks in the substrate do not telegraph through to the surface. This is especially important over plywood subfloors and in homes with seasonal temperature swings common across Muskoka.

Prova Flex-Tile is lightweight, easy to cut, and provides built-in vapour management that allows moisture from below to escape without reaching the tile. It also pairs well with radiant heated floor systems, distributing heat evenly while protecting the tile bond. For floors over concrete or where moisture mitigation is a concern, this is often our first choice.

We use professional tile leveling systems on every floor to ensure zero lippage between tiles. Large-format tiles are particularly unforgiving when it comes to flatness, and our process guarantees a perfectly even surface you can feel when you walk across it.

Tile by Room

Different rooms have different demands. Here is what we recommend for each space.

Kitchen

Porcelain or wood-look plank tile. Handles spills, dropped dishes, and heavy foot traffic. Large format reduces grout lines for easier cleaning.

Entryway & Mudroom

Textured porcelain or natural slate. The first surface visitors see and the most abused floor in the house. Needs to handle boots, salt, and water.

Bathroom

Slip-rated porcelain with textured finish. Smaller tiles for shower floors, large format for main floors. Heated floor mats underneath for comfort.

Living & Dining

Large-format porcelain or polished stone for a clean, open look. Wood-look planks work well in open-concept layouts that connect to kitchens.

Basement

Porcelain tile over a moisture barrier. Basements are prone to dampness, so tile is the safest flooring choice. Pairs well with radiant heat.

Laundry Room

Waterproof porcelain with slip resistance. Laundry rooms see regular water exposure and need a floor that will not be damaged by leaks or spills.
